Born on the island of Malta in 1990, George Eynaud studied at the Camberwell College of Art (UAL) in London in 2011, before establishing his own practice as an artist, developing a figurative style that defined his earlier work.  He later started to create abstract paintings and experiment with different processes by using industrial paints and materials as an alternative to more traditional approaches. Currently based in London, the artist continues to explore various facets of memory and materiality through his practice across a variety of disciplines. Eynaud has also published articles through such platforms as Artlyst, ARTANC, Subterranean, HENI Talks and the Malta-based Artpaper.

Artist Statement:

Through my work I investigate the relationship between material forms and natural forces, utilising light, space and colour. Through the continued sublimation of such visual elements, my paintings reflect a process-based approach to abstraction in which traces of actions are recorded like layers of the past. I wish to evoke a sense of heightened awareness in the viewer through the interplay of various environmental conditions – to make the viewer aware of their presence in a world of invisible forces, between reality and perception.
